Glam Polish Eye of Sauron

Published November 19, 2014 by clairestelle8

Okay I’ll have to make it clear right from the start that I don’t really know my Lord Of The Rings. *whispers I’m more of a Harry Potter and Narnia girl* so I didn’t get this gorgeous polish for its link to all things hobbit! This is from Glam Polish The Epic Journey collection and is really difficult to describe. Is it purple? Orchid? In different lights you can see fuchsia, blue, purple and gold flecks. It has the nature of a multichrome without actually being a multichrome! I tried to capture this beauty as best I could but you need to see this in person to appreciate its full beauty!

Application as always with Glam Polishes was smooth and easy. This was two coats with top coat.

Hands up who guessed some faffage was on its way? I wanted to highlight the gorgeous gold flecks in this polish so I created a watermarble with Opi All Sparkly and Gold and a clear polish.

What do you think? I’m getting quite addicted to watermarbles though I do hate the clean up!

A summer watermarble just in time for Halloween!

Published October 28, 2014 by clairestelle8

A short post as I’m not feeling too well today. Absolutely nothing to do with over exposure to polish fumes! Well we are having a late Indian summer. Possibly a whole two days worth of sunshine which I’m sure is more than our usual allowance for England for the entire year so I decided to make the most of it and try a summery looking watermarble. I used the gorgeous Glampolish Peace of Mind as a base and then marbled with that and Nails Inc polishes Sumners Place, Langton Street and Haymarket. It was my second ever watermarble and I was quite pleased with the result! I found the marbles were much more successful the smaller bowl I used and the closer to room temperature the water was. The designs you can create are so unique and beautiful I can’t wait to try my next one!

Glam Polish Peace of Mind

Published October 26, 2014 by clairestelle8

To look at this in the bottle and on the nails, the name of this gorgeous polish is very apt. To try to capture its magic in a photograph gave me anything but peace of mind! So let me assure you now that this polish is far more special than anything I am about to show you! It really is quite elusive but maybe that is part of its magic, particularly as it is one of the Exotic Illusions Collection. In the bottle it is purple with a deep blue shift. On the nails, well it all depends on the light, but can be an azure blue reminiscent of the sea, or violet with a strong metallic pink shift. And it has a gorgeous subtle holo in the sun.

And here it is taken in shade to show quite a different quality to it.

As always with Glam Polishes I found the consistency very easy to work with and opaque in two coats. If Peace of Mind is anything to go by, the collection’s title “Exotic Illusions” is very apt!

Glam Polish In Summer

Published October 18, 2014 by clairestelle8

I fell in love with this polish at first sight! From the Glam Polish collection You’re Never Too Old To Be Young, In Summer was inspired by Olaf’s song in Frozen, one of my favourite Disney films! It’s a beautiful white crelly with small pink, periwinkle, lilac and blue glitter. Unusually for a glitter crelly this applied like a dream. No fishing required and no clumping. Two thin costs and it was opaque and a top coat smoothed it out beautifully! I never wanted to remove this!

And it glowed in direct sunlight which in itself is a rarity in England!

Glam Polish are one of my favourite indie brands. The quality is consistently excellent and I highly recommend them! If you live in Australia or New Zealand you can purchase directly from them at http://glampolish.bigcartel.com/ or alternatively I purchased mine at http://meimeisignatures.com/. Also available at http://www.harlowandco.org/

Picture Polish Pirouette

Published October 18, 2014 by clairestelle8

I’m quite embarrassed to admit this is my first experience of a Picture Polish but I now totally get the excitement about this Australian indie polish brand. Pirouette is a medium pink with a subtle scattered holo through it that has a beautiful glow and sparkle in the sunshine and natural lighting.

The consistency was perfect, application was flawless and it was opaque in two coats.

I couldn’t resist using this beauty with some straight vinyls over Glam Polish In Summer. My aim was to reflect the spinning round of a pirouette in my design!
